Guide Michelin starred Ekstedt pioneering the art of fine dining using only open fire.
The interior design amplifies the elemental drama of light and flame, using copper, hot-rolled steel, limestone, natural Pear wood, and artisan leather to create a space where materials, atmosphere, and culinary theater are seamlessly intertwined.
The restaurant dissolves the boundary between front and back of house, allowing guests to witness the chef Niklas Ekstedt’s culinary mastery up close, while the design tells the story of his heritage and the elemental roots of his cooking.
Upon opening, Ekstedt redefined fine dining, earning international acclaim, a Michelin star, and the Swedish Hospitality Award for “Restaurant Interior of the Year”. Nearly two decades later, the restaurant continues to stand as a landmark of innovation, design, and immersive dining experience.
